promotion and development of interoperable Calendaring
and Scheduling standards, products and services.

IEC, the International Electrotechnical Commission, is the international standards and conformity assessment
body for all fields of electrotechnology.

ISO, the International Organization for Standardization
is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from some 135 countries, one from each country.
ISO is a non-governmental organization established in 1947. The
mission of ISO is to promote the development of standardization
and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the
international exchange of goods and services, and to developing
cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological
and economic activity.

INCITS, the
InterNational Committee for Information Technology
Standards, previously known as ANSI/X3, is the United States national standards
committee for Information Technology standards.
Most U.S. IT standards development
committees report to INCITS. INCITS and its Technical
Committees also represent the United States
to JTC 1 and its technical Subcommittees.

JTC 1, the Joint Technology Committee 1 on Information Technology of ISO and IEC
is responsible for standardization in the field of Information Technology. "Information Technology"
includes the specification, design and development of systems and tools dealing
with the capture, representation, processing, security, transfer, interchange, presentation, management,
organization, storage and retrieval of information.
