User Groups
SHARE Website SHARE Inc. was the first organized computer user group, formed in 1955 by twelve organizations about to receive IBM 704 Computers. Fifty years later, SHARE's membership comprises over 2,000 of the largest and most diverse companies, associations, and governmental entities in the world. A nonprofit, volunteer-managed User Group, SHARE provides a unique combination of vendor- and user-provided information at its twice-yearly Conferences.

Standards Bodies
CalConnect - The Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium is an Information Technology Consortium focused on the promotion and development of interoperable Calendaring and Scheduling standards, products and services.
ANSI, the American National Standards Institute, is a federation of organizations that establish a national consensus on national and international standards and conformity assessment policy as it relates to trade, regulatory matters and the integrity of the processes. ANSI approves American National Standards and represents the United States to ISO and IEC.
IEC, the International Electrotechnical Commission, is the international standards and conformity assessment body for all fields of electrotechnology.
ISO, the International Organization for Standardization is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from some 135 countries, one from each country. ISO is a non-governmental organization established in 1947. The mission of ISO is to promote the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods and services, and to developing cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity.
INCITS, the InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards, previously known as ANSI/X3, is the United States national standards committee for Information Technology standards. Most U.S. IT standards development committees report to INCITS. INCITS and its Technical Committees also represent the United States to JTC 1 and its technical Subcommittees.
JTC 1 Website JTC 1, the Joint Technology Committee 1 on Information Technology of ISO and IEC is responsible for standardization in the field of Information Technology. "Information Technology" includes the specification, design and development of systems and tools dealing with the capture, representation, processing, security, transfer, interchange, presentation, management, organization, storage and retrieval of information.
